Today was my first day of classes at Compassvale Primary School. Could hardly sleep last night because of this, and I ended up tossing and turning til 1+ am. I guess it was a combination of trepidation and excitement about it being the first day of school - trepidation as I haven't had to wake up so early for a very long time (especially since I hate doing so) and excitement since I had a very enjoyable time during my 1 week observation last year (where Wayne and I attended the P5 Camp Finale).
On to the day itself. I was almost late for my first day of school as I stupidly took the wrong LRT line and ended up wasting 15 minutes travelling along the Red LRT line, but in the end, I managed to scan my card at 7.09 am, 1 minute before I was supposed to report to the Hall to meet my CT, Mrs Muruga. A very nice lady, and she was very helpful to us, even though her schedule was packed for the day. She was also the one who planned my timetable, and it is actually quite relaxing, as I only have 2 English periods today, but I ended up not attending it as the teacher wasn't around in school today, so those periods were taken by one of the relief teachers.
But it wasn't a 'wasted' day after all, as Wayne and I decided to join Michelle for her P2 PE lesson observation at the school's quadrangle. I enjoyed it a lot as the kids were just so cute, and seeing them confirmed why I decided to be a Primary School teacher - they are just so innocent, enjoying themselves as if without a care in the world.
I hope that the next few days will be just as enjoyable as today.
