Treat your pupils as though they're your own children

'Treat your pupils as though they're your own children. As a parent, you would want your children's teacher to treat them with care. So as a teacher, you should treat your pupils like you want your own children to be treated.'

The above was a piece of advice that was given by the Pri 2 English teacher that we observed when we went to bid her farewell on our last day of school, and I'll always remember this, coz that's the direction that I'm going in - lower Primary education. I feel that this is especially true for lower Primary teachers, as the lower Primary pupils are still young, and thus, still need to be taken care of. So from now on, I'll keep this piece of advice in mind, and it will be one of my 'Principles of Teaching'.
